Step inside our working floral Studio this May and experience where ideas take shape, colours are chosen, and every stem finds its place.
As part of the Isle of Wight Open Studios, the Studio doors are flung open, inviting all visitors inside the creative heart of our floral world. Alongside more than 200 talented Island artists and makers, this is a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes and experience floristry as it truly is: thoughtful, expressive, and rooted in artistry.
Since 2020, much of the work has taken place quietly behind the scenes, in a rhythm of brown paper, snips, and buckets of water. Our little safe haven. Open Studios offers the chance to share the creative process and connect with both familiar faces and new visitors.
The opening days have already been a joy, welcoming returning customers curious to see where their bouquets were created, as well as first-time visitors discovering the Studio for the first time. If you have not visited yet, this is the perfect weekend to do so.
What You’ll Experience
Your visit is designed to feel relaxed, inspiring, and immersed in seasonal beauty. Expect:
• A working studio environment where everyday bouquets and large-scale event designs come to life.
• The opportunity to meet the florists and learn about sourcing, techniques, and creative inspiration.
• A curated seasonal flower stand, with the best May stems available - including the season’s most favourite bloom, the peony!
• A hands-on “stems bar” to create and take home a bouquet, with flowers available to buy on the day.
• Informal wedding and event consultations in a welcoming, no-pressure setting.
Floristry as Art
Being part of Open Studios places floristry alongside painting, ceramics, and printmaking, exactly where it belongs.
Each arrangement is guided by core artistic principles:
• Colour: Balancing tones and finding harmony across seasonal palettes.
• Texture: Layering soft, structured, and delicate elements for contrast.
• Movement: Allowing natural lines to flow, echoing how flowers grow in the wild.
This approach transforms flowers from simple products into living compositions, fleeting, expressive, and entirely unique.
