Venue Selection: East Afton Farmhouse

Lizzie and Liam were drawn to the rustic charm and beautiful views of East Afton Farmhouse on the Isle of Wight for their wedding. They appreciated the venue's on-site accommodation and expert wedding planning services. The Stone Barn, with its stone walls, oak beams, and carved chandeliers, was a perfect ceremony spot. The Events Barn, combining rustic features like brickwork with modern touches like timber cladding and expansive glass windows overlooking a charming courtyard, served as an ideal reception space.

Theme: A Country Garden Affair

The couple envisioned creating a country garden atmosphere for their wedding, with natural elements and abundant foliage. Drawing inspiration from autumn hues, they curated a palette of greens, blush tones (soft pale pink), and hints of magenta to craft a romantic and intimate ambiance. Roses and eucalyptus were deliberately chosen by the couple to feature prominently in their floral arrangements, adding to the overall aesthetic they desired.

Bridal Ensemble: Echoes of Nature's Elegance

In line with their country garden theme, the bride adorned an elegant ivory lace dress, complementing bridesmaids dressed in dark green. The groom, groomsmen, and page boys sported navy blue suits with soft pink ties. The flower girls wore ivory dresses intricately embroidered with delicate wildflowers, reflecting the enchanting ambiance. Their look was further enhanced by individually wired flowers adorning their hair.

Floral Design and Décor: Bringing Nature Indoors

Floral arrangements were carefully curated to transition from vibrant summer hues to subdued autumn tones. Blush roses, dusky vintage hydrangeas, deep pink astrantia, and soft pink astilbe were selected to evoke the romance of the season. Eucalyptus, along with trailing jasmine and rosemary, enriched the arrangements with texture and depth. Emotional elements included dry corn from Lizzie's childhood farm home in the gentlemen’s buttonholes, and rosemary in the bridal bouquet to symbolise remembrance for absent loved ones.

Ceremony at the Stone Barn: A Serene Meadow Setting

The Stone Barn was magically transformed into a tranquil meadow setting, enhanced with carefully crafted floral arrangements. Delicate blooms, paired with lanterns, lined the aisle, creating a whimsical pathway to the ceremony area.

Twinkling lights draped over exposed oak beams and carved chandeliers, intertwined with lush foliage, added to the rustic charm. A magnificent floral arch framed the couple as they exchanged vows, serving as a captivating focal point. Floral accents adorned the celebrant's table, adding sophistication and style to the scene.

Reception at the Events Barn: Enchanting Floral Showcase

As guests stepped into the Events Barn, they were greeted by a breathtaking floral presentation, complete with a welcome sign adorned with delicate blossoms. Each table showcased meticulously crafted floral compositions, ranging from centerpieces with bud vases to suspended displays elegantly placed on gold stands to create a more intimate space. Above, chandeliers dripped with lush foliage, enhancing the enchanting ambiance.

The floral archway, now repositioned from the ceremony, provided a stunning backdrop for the head table. From the bar area, echoing remnants of the ceremony's flower meadow, to the staircase and beyond, every corner of the venue, including the seating plan, cake table, and cocktail fountain, was adorned with florals, ensuring an unforgettable atmosphere.

Accolades and Gratitude: A Memorable Celebration

Both guests and vendors praised the stunning archway, gracefully suspended table arrangements, and adorned chandeliers. Lizzie and Liam conveyed their appreciation for the flawless execution of their dream wedding, commending on the venue's flexibility and our elegant floral designs. They also acknowledged theseamless transition of florals from the ceremony to the reception, along with the dedication of other vendors. The most frequent question we fielded was, “When did you do all that?” To which we replied: the preparation spanned three days leading up to the wedding, and everything was set up in just a couple of hours the day before.
